What is a “Tiger Team”?

A tiger team is an official inspection team or special group, generally composed of subject matter experts and consultants.

The tiger team is called to look into a single problem, establish benchmark metrics, give an analysis of the best options available, and implement the chosen remediation that has been validated by core team functional experts, and approved for implementation by executive authority.

Tiger teams are a deliberate, disciplined, and quality approach to business process analysis. It stresses customer satisfaction, and emphasizes management, customer, and team collaboration. Team members are empowered to confidently respond to changing customer requirements, even late in the project’s life cycle. Tiger teams improve analysis efforts in four essential ways: communication, simplicity, feedback, and functional agility.
